Who We Are
The Mill Neck Family of Organizations aims to strengthen the capabilities, skills and resources for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community locally and worldwide. By empowering this community, we hope to provide effective communication, a quality education, vocational training and spiritual support with the goal of independent, productive and meaningful futures.
In 1950, after being specifically chosen by Lillian Sefton Dodge (the prior owner of the mansion now known as Mill Neck Manor), the estate was sold to Lutheran Friends of the Deaf, the founding organization of the Mill Neck Family. In 1951, the mansion became a residential school for 19 Deaf children. Today, the Mill Neck Family of Organizations has grown to serve countless Deaf children and adults locally and worldwide.
The Mill Neck Foundation is made up of an esteemed board of trustees with extensive knowledge, dedicated experience and unwavering passion for our mission to serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
The Mill Neck Family of Organizations’ reach is widespread, serving countless Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adults of all ages, at every stage of life, from all parts of the world.
