MNI Travels to Hungary for International Conference
Mill Neck International (MNI) traveled to Budapest, Hungary, for the World Federation of the Deaf ’s (WFD) third annual International Conference.
While there, Sarah Houge, MNI’s Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, and Lisa Fisher, MNI’s International Deaf Center Manager, attended workshops and presentations and learned about inclusion for Deaf people through sign language in the workplace, families and the use of technology. They also met many people from all over the world who are working with the mutual goal of improving lives for Deaf people. The team was able to share ideas with a board member for the European Union of the Deaf, Regional Secretariat for Asia and West Central Africa Secretariat, as well as the president of WFD Youth Section.
During the conference, Houge presented her poster session called “Communication and Information Access for Deaf People in the Field of Development,” while Fisher focused on collecting information for the International Deaf Center, a new online resource center.
