Apple Festival 2021
This past weekend’s skies may have been a bit gray, but the pops of color from pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks brightened the Mill Neck Manor campus for our annual Apple Festival. Despite some rain, a steady flow of visitors drove in to pick up their favorite apples and other festival standbys, including triple crown jelly, apple and pumpkin butters, and honey. The apple fritters and cider donuts were a big hit! Seeing some of our Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf alumni was among the highlights of the weekend.
Many thanks to our returning and new supporters for helping us keep this Long Island tradition going! Every year, we rely on the work of many who pitch in and help make every Apple Festival possible. We’re grateful to our Mill Neck Family staff, faithful volunteers, school alumni, and Board of Trustees. We appreciate the efforts of the Old Brookville Police Dept. and Solutions Valet Parking for their assistance. Thanks to North Shore Golf Cart, Mill Creek Tavern and Gooseberry Grove for their involvement in this year’s festival. Finally, to all visitors who stopped by, thank you for understanding our decision to hold a modified Apple Festival out of concern for the health and safety of our communities. We hope for a return to our full on-campus festival in 2022.
As with all Apple Festivals past, proceeds from this year’s event fully benefit Deaf children and adults. If you were not able to drop by, you can still participate in our largest fundraiser. Simply visit our donation page and make a contribution today.
