Join Team Mill Neck at the 2010 Walk4Hearing

Want to support a great cause? Join Team Mill Neck at Walk4Hearing, a nationally coordinated effort sponsored by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). The event will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Riverside Park in New York City, located at West 83rd Street and Riverside Drive. Registration begins at 9 am and the walk will start at 10 am.

Join as a walker or support a team member by making a donation. Either way, help Team Mill Neck by logging on to www.walk4hearing.org. Click on “find a walker or team” and type in Mill Neck. The Mill Neck Family of Organizations will benefit from the proceeds raised during the Walk4Hearing event. “Undoubtedly, the work that HLAA does – advocacy, support services for parents and children, scholarships and good, old-fashioned listening to those new to hearing loss – is priceless. Add to that the work that Mill Neck does for the Deaf each day, from providing interpreters to assisting people in need of employment to helping those with developmental disabilities. I simply cannot think of two better organizations to support,” said Loretta Murray, Director of Mill Neck Services and Captain of Team Mill Neck.

The purpose of Walk4Hearing is to increase awareness about the causes and consequences of hearing loss and to raise funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. The Hearing Loss Association of America depends on generous volunteers to raise funds and awareness at each Walk4Hearing site.

The Mill Neck Family of Organizations is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people who are Deaf, or who have other special needs, through excellence in individually designed educational, vocational or spiritual programs and services. The organizations include Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, the Mill Neck Manor Early Childhood Center, Mill Neck Services, Mill Neck Audiology, Mill Neck Interpreter Service, Mill Neck Foundation, Inc. and Lutheran Friends of the Deaf.
