Volunteering at the Fall Harvest Festival
On Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, 2015, from 9 am to 5 pm, the Mill Neck Family of Organizations will host its annual FALL HARVEST FESTIVAL. Thousands of Long Island families will return to our beautiful campus to enjoy this autumn tradition!
What’s quite amazing is the Festival is run entirely by faithful volunteers. Without the time and talents of volunteer workers, this event would never be possible. Volunteers are the lifeblood, and from its inception, the most enthusiastic and supportive volunteers have been our school’s parents, the parents of former students, members of service organizations and friends of Mill Neck Manor.
If another family member or friend would also like to volunteer, please copy the form, have them fill it out and mail it back, or simply have him/her register online. Volunteers will receive 5 food tickets for four hours of service and 10 food tickets for a full day of service. Confirmation letters, with assignment details, will be mailed to volunteers at the end of September. On Saturday, October 3, 2015, we will be hosting a Fall Harvest Festival “Kick-Off” Breakfast for 2015 volunteers from 9 am to 11 am in the Deaf Education Center. The breakfast gives us an opportunity to recognize our long-time volunteers and orientate our new ones. Please indicate on the volunteer form if you plan to attend the “Kick-Off” and help us honor these wonderful retirees.
Since our first official Festival in 1961, proceeds raised from the event have been used to support our programs and services for people who are Deaf or who have other special communication needs.
