Math Teacher (Leave Replacement) Position Available – September 2014

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Masters Degree in Deaf Education or related area
  • Certification in Math for grades 7 – 12
  • Previous experience with teaching Math to deaf students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Sign Language
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team


Employment Specialist

Mill Neck Services is looking for qualified Per Diem Employment Specialist to join a team of professionals who provide employment services for individuals who are Deaf and/or have additional disabilities.   Work with clients through all phases of job search through on the job training.   Assume responsibility for client files, maintaining appropriate and contemporaneous documentation and materials relative to their employment.   Job developing / sales experience a plus.    Candidate with BA/BS preferred. Must possess at least an AA/AS degree and be computer literate.   Must be proficient in American Sign Language.  Must be willing and able to work weekend and evening/night hours as needed.   For Long Island locations, a valid driver’s license and dependable car needed.   Ability to work in NYC metro area preferred.


Part Time Rehabilitation Workers

Provide one-on-one training to Deaf, developmentally disabled adults. Responsibilities include working on individualized goals with the consumer in his/her community; writing brief case notes describing habilitation contacts and attending trainings as required. All contacts are generally in the evening or on weekends. Some college desirable. Driver’s license and dependable car a must. Fluency in American Sign Language required.


Sign Language Interpreters

Seeking freelance Sign Language Interpreters to provide interpreting/transliterating on Long Island and N.Y. Metropolitan regional area.
